This policy explains what information Scriblify (scriblify.blog) collects when you visit, and what we do with it. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.
Who we are
Scriblify is an educational website publishing guides about small business taxes and accounting. Our website address is https://scriblify.blog.
Information you give us directly
Newsletter signup. If you join our newsletter, we collect the email address you enter. We use it only to send you our guides and updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave the list at any time.
Contact form. If you message us through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. We use these only to read and reply to your message.
Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address, and website you enter, along with your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Comments are held for manual approval and only appear on the site after we approve them.
Information collected automatically
Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit — in server logs. This is used for security and keeping the site running well. Logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify you personally.
Cookies and consent. When you first visit, a cookie banner asks for your consent. We use these categories:
- Necessary — required for the site to work (for example, remembering your cookie choice). These are always on.
- Functional, Analytics, Performance, Advertisement — only used if you accept them in the banner.
You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner’s settings.
What we do not collect. We do not offer user accounts or logins, we do not take payments, and we do not run Google Analytics or similar third-party analytics tools on this site.
How we use your information
- To send the newsletter you signed up for (and let you unsubscribe)
- To reply to messages you send us
- To display comments you choose to leave (after approval)
- To keep the site secure and working
- To remember your cookie preferences
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Your information is handled by the systems that run this website: our hosting provider (which stores the site and its server logs) and our cookie-consent tool (which remembers your banner choices). We may disclose information if required by law.
Our articles link out to official sources such as irs.gov. Those are ordinary links, not embedded content — those sites have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter email addresses: until you unsubscribe.
- Contact-form messages: only as long as needed to handle your request.
- Comments: kept with the site’s content once approved.
- Server logs: kept for a limited period, then discarded.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can withdraw cookie consent or unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To make a request, use our contact page: https://scriblify.blog/contact/
Children
Our content is written for business owners and general readers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
